For you such a deal...

Any author or would-be author can imagine the thrill of having a copy of your published book in your hands for the first time. There’s really nothing like it. All your thought and work and dreaming have gone into the tactile package before you, and you try as hard as you can to view it afresh, as a reader would.

Let me tell you that even for one of my vintage who has enjoyed this experience 174 times before, the 175th was just as exhilarating.

Riven is the novel I have always wanted to write. It is my most ambitious, longest, and most gratifying. Tyndale House Publishers did a masterful job with the editing and packaging. I love the cover and internal design and everything about it.

My custom is to read that first copy, which – naturally – arrives in my mailbox some weeks before actual release to the public. So the other day I sat on a plane and started from the beginning, oblivious to the fact that my mug was showing on the back cover.

Dianna says that when the beverage cart wheeled past, she heard one flight attendant tell another, “There’s a guy over there reading his own novel!”

Well, this is a project that never seemed a chore. The characters have been with me for decades, and the story drew me back to the keyboard with passion every day. If you want a copy personalized to yourself or someone else and signed, you may order it through http://www.christianwritersguild.com/

NOTE: RIVEN RELEASES JULY 22, SO YOU CAN ORDER IT THEN OR AFTER.

This is a $24.99 hardback of 527 pages, and the fact is you can get it cheaper at your local Christian bookstore (which I'd love for you to support) or any general bookstore or at http://www.amazon.com/

But if you want it personalized and signed, just tell me to whom you want it ascribed (a first name), and I’ll get it off to you. Of course, as this is the novel I’ve always wanted to write and is unlike anything I’ve ever written, my hope is that it stays with you long after the final page. And so I’d love to hear from you after you’ve read it.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I am so looking forward to reading "Riven". I've just had one book published and know the thrill you mentioned. Hopefully, I can make it another 174 times, God willing. Thanks for your witness through word and (for me) especially through print.

Congratulations! Can't wait to have a copy in MY hands :-) By the way, I just finished "Writing for the Soul" and could not put it down. It's a phenominal book and I took pages of notes. Definitely a book to keep on hand and reread several times. Thank you! I pray that God continues to use you in powerful ways through your writing and teaching. (I'm hoping to be able to take the Apprentice course with CWG) Blessings & JOY! Amy in OR

I ordered "Riven" from a book club before I saw your offer of the signed copy. I look forward to receiving the book and appreciated the excerpt. In the meantime I am reading "The Rising". It really has an effective portrayal of the darkness of evil. I had to put it down and leave it for a day and think about that you would bring in the light of Jesus if I kept reading. That same day my family decided to watch "The Sixth Sense" so it really felt eerie with all the contact with spirits both in the book and in the movie. I am so thankful I can count on your books to show the light of Christ that overcomes the darkness of evil. I know "Riven" will be another bright spot in the library and bookstores.

Congratulations, Jerry! I'm in the last part of the apprentice course, and I've ordered some writing books and reading them now. I've got the first 16 chapters written of a Christian Romance, and I stopped writing and started reading before completing the novel. Reading the writing books offered through the Guild is like an eye-opener for me. I've completed Stein on Writing.

I loved your Left Behind series and can't wait to read your latest work. Next to Billy Graham, I think you've made a world of difference for readers. Your books made me stop and think. They were thought-provoking and stayed with me long after completing the last page. In fact, they're still with me.

Blessings,

Can't wait to order the book! Went to several bookstores, namely B&N and they didn't have it yet. I am taking your course and love it. Can't wait to read your latest novel. May God richly bless you for using your talents for His service.
