I have a supply of a Christmas novella I wrote a few years ago, which many considered a nice gift. It’s called Holding Heaven, contains just two short chapters, and carries the beautiful artwork of master painter Ron DiCianni.
The first chapter imagines Joseph, the father of Jesus, carrying the baby under the stars and recounting the night of His birth.
It begins: The worker of wood lay on his back in the darkness, hands behind his head, leathery fingers interlaced, one throbbing. His young wife slumbered to his left, her breathing even and deep. An arm’s length from her the baby had begun to stir. Again.
The second chapter is set thirty years later with Joseph on his deathbed and Jesus, about to embark on His public ministry, telling the old man what is to come.
Now, here’s the deal: if you’re among the first 100 to take me up on this offer, just send $15 (includes shipping and handling) to me at Box 88288, Black Forest CO 80908, along with the first name of someone you want the book signed for, and I’ll personalize it, sign it, and ship it. I look forward to hearing from you.
